Lawton Memorial Library Board Meeting

Special Board Meeting         Tuesday, September 6, 2022

*Chair Barbara Melvin called the special meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. at the Lawton Memorial Library. Roll call was taken with all board members present: Melvin, Carol Persons, Georgia Everson, Donna Niles, Gwendolyn Hatfield, Gail Muller, and Kimberly Walker. Also present was Librarian Lisa Ahler.

*Verification of posting at the Bank, Post Office, and Village Office on August 31, 2022, was given.

*Discussed purchasing 5 new computers as talked about at the last meeting (July 26th). At that time, we said the card catalog computer didn’t need replaced, but it has since been having issues. It is only supported for another year or two, so now would be a good time to replace this too, as they will all be the same age. Carol inquired about a wireless printer, as there are quite a few requests from people wanting to print items from their phones. An all-in-one printer with scanning and duplexing capability should be under $200. Hatfield moved, Persons seconded to purchase 6 new computers for the library and a wireless printer if the cost comes in under $200. (Carried).

*Also from the last meeting, had discussed adding Family Research Affiliate Library to our services. Lisa did some checking. We can link to their system and there’s no cost associated with it. Niles moved, Muller seconded to approve proceeding with the Family Research Affiliate Library. (Carried).

*Everson moved, Persons seconded to adjourn. (Carried). Adjourned at 1:09 p.m.

                                                                         Kimberly Walker, Village Clerk/Treasurer
